CarPlay stuck in speech mode

I hopped in my car and headed to the store when I noticed my music sounded a little tinny. I went to adjust the volume and noticed the volume pop-up said Speech, not Media.

After trying various things including restarting iDrive several times I finally deleted the iPhone in iDrive AND deleted the BMW in my iPhone's bluetooth manager. Doing just one did not work for whatever reason.

I paired them again and all is normal for now.

Just throwing this out there in case someone searches for it in the future.
