I have seen some really valuable threads on the M340s (such as this one https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2034664) where members highlight things to watch out for when shopping for a used car. While similar, the M440 does not share a lot of the option deletes and such that the M340 does.

I’m hoping to create a collection of valuable information for current and future used M440i shoppers to help them be aware of things to consider.
• Option Deletes – What options were removed from cars that a buyer may think is included (standard or from options)
• Differences Between Model Years - slight differences that may exist between model years
• Tips – Packages to consider or skip, etc.
• Issues to Watch For – what common issues, wear, or degradations

What tips and info can you provide for perspective owners? It may be helpful to keep the categories I have above in your post so that readers can track them in buckets as this thread grows.

I think there is value in a thread for the 430 but it may be better as an identical but separate thread so the info is most applicable.

The big issue with be what gets deleted from the M440i Coupe and Convertible and the Gran Coupe with the mid cycle refresh for 2025.

For the M340i the big update was the idrive 8 and curved screen interface. But the M440i got these updates before their mid-cycle refresh.

Certainly there will be head light and tail light updates..but like the M340i...this will most certainly mean NO LASER LIGHTS!

I did not wait for the 2025 M440i Gran Coupe because the 2024 got idrive 8 and I want LASER LIGHTS.

I also wanted to avoid many of the other LCI deletes that hit M340I.

In short I think 2025 for M440i will be mostly cosmetic with no LASER LIGHTS.

updated this post to include the 2024 MY changes (2024 M440i Coupe and M440i xDrive Coupe also get standard driver and passenger lumbar support as well as wireless device charging as standard along with the optional eSIM 5G)

If there are any other differences between model years or issues of neutering due to supply issues, post them here and ill keep the first post up to date.

Did the m440i face the following like the m340 did:
passenger lumbar removed?
touchscreens replaced with non-touchscreens?
Ambient lighting removed?
powered tailgate removed?
Laser lights removed as an option starting in 2023?

I bought my 24 GC back in May and it came with laser lights, ambient lighting, power tailgate and touch screen is also non touch screen. I dont think it has passenger lumbar. I never looked.

Picked up my 07/2023 build 2024 M440i Coupe last week.

I have:
Passenger Lumbar
Touch screen
No ambient lighting in the door pockets (previous threads say there used to be lighting in the door pockets prior to 2020?)
No power tailgate but do have hands-free opening
Laser lights were hard to find, but managed to find a car with them
