if its not in the sidewall you may be able to get just a patch.

Unfortunately for me the size of the bolt that was in there meant it was too big to repair. They tried and it was seeping air still.

I had exactly the same thing happen. The bolt was so long it cracked the wheel. £990 a wheel and tyre.

How that bolt ever managed to puncture the tyre (RNS) I will never know. You could drive over it 50 times and for it to sit at just the right angle was amazing bad luck.

Wheel was on 10 days back order but BMW emergency services rescued the car and fixed me a hire car at no cost to me. Their service was outstanding.

They've tried - the hole is too big so it hasn't sealed properly

Shame. Max hole size that can be plugged is 3/8"

Would make minimal difference to my driving - just sat at motorway speeds, and the Pirelli's are pretty decent I think.

When I picked up my m340 I literally drove it round the corner to Halfords, got out and heard the tyre pissing air. Bolt in the tyre. Took it straight back and Bmw repaired. In the past I’ve been told they can’t repair run flats.

Don't think it's an issue as long as it's within a certain proportion of the tyre. Mine happened on my estate where they're still building it - currently trying to pursue the developer for compensation.

This happened to our F32 at 800 miles, luckily it was a small nail in the center of the tread and Bridgestone has a method for patching their run flats. They had to demount the tire and patch from the inside. It's held up perfectly with almost 11k mi now. Then 400 miles later we get a chip in the windshield 😂
