No longer can turn off Auto Start/Stop

Auto Start/Stop does not work as it did on my 2018 4 Series.

Now with my 2021 4 Series, I have to turn it off every time I start the car.

Can I ask the dealership to recode it or does anyone know an option setting to get it remember the last setting to stay off?

That's correct, it now defaults on. The dealer will not recode this feature. You can do it your self with Bimmercode.

It's like the pre LCI f30 that also doesn't remember last setting. Doesn't hurt to ask if the dealer will do it or maybe the SA will recommend someone off record or how to DIY.

It applies to the MHEV models. Right now it means M340i / M440i only.

But aren't all M340/440's mild hybrids in 21?

You can also:
1. Make sport individual settings show in Comfort Mode. You still have sport and sport plus settings, but you'll get the normal throttle settings without the Engine shutting off.
2. Max AC and then just turn down the fan speed.
3. Shifter to the left.

Thanks to everyone for the advice.

Since I need to push a button anyway, I might as well just push the active stop bush off.

But I am interested in this coding thing...the OBDCheck modules dont seem to be fully compatible yet for the new 2021 4 series on Amazon but once they are, I think I might just try Bimmercode. It would be nice to turn the auto stop function off permanently, get rid of some of the screen warning messages, and maybe even get it to remember to keep my transmission in sport mode. My only reservation is that I don't want to screw up my car's computer system but I haven't heard of anyone having done that yet.
