Bumping an old but still relevant thread. I'm looking to remove/open the A-Pillar to install a dash cam cable without obstructing the airbag. I guess I'm dumb. I'm just not getting step one: "Unclip the cover (1) with suitable tools." Huh? Unclip how? What tools? I've searched and searched, and can't find any good info or video on how to do this. I don't want to experiment and bugger up my new M340xi!

I don't want to run a cable in front of the airbag because in the event of an accident:

1. The cable might prevent the airbag from deploying properly.

2. The airbag may sever the cable causing severe injury or death.

3. If the cable is severed there will be no recording of the accident.

OK, it looks like I just carefully pry off the cap that says airbag to get the release screw. Couldn't find any g20 specific info, but other BMWs seem similar.

I'm still grateful for any useful links/info about routing cables without interfering with the airbags. 😁
