This has provided me with the opportunity to notice that my G20 has some serious reflections. Some of the silver trim around the vents, and the spokes on the steering wheel reflect sunlight right into your eyes.
I also noticed this when looking at the side mirror

Rattling Noise Coming from Exhaust (g20 330i)

I've noticed a weird rattling noise coming from the exhaust. It's high pitched and very noticeable when revving while the car is parked.

If you have any idea on how to fix PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I'd rather not make the trip to the dealership.

-->>I attached a youtube link so you can hear it for yourself.

Hi Mate
Sorry to hear that , I read somewhere on the forums an owner had the same issue and it was to do with a loose heat shield under the car vibrating against the exhaust , he took it to the dealer and they fixed it so maybe it is that

I wonder if they thought this was OK or they never noticed it in the development stage? The silver star in the middle of my old Merc's steering wheel would laser a hole in my retina on sunny days.

At how many km Has/did your first low engine oil message come up?
Seen many postings about the M340i engine oil consumption but not 330i. I'm 19k in

Never... and I'm at 30000km and 20 months ownership.

The X5 M50D is fairly regular though

Hmm ok thanks. I'm also nearing 20m ownership and have not driven particularly hard either.
Funny that when I called roadside they were so coy about "can't give technical advice" and basically declined to say what brand/viscosity could be used and instead had to wait for a technician??! Quicker to have walked the 2km to the nearest repco

you could have just used the supercheapauto website, when you put in your REGO it should point you to the correct oil for your vehicle based on vin/rego.

i got Castrol Edge 5W-30 A3/B4 for my X3 usually i would use LiquiMoly Or Mobil1

Hi All
Interesting thing happened to me the other day, think it was mentioned before.
Opened the boot ad threw my jacket inside, then I closed it, and after it closed it automatically opened again !!
I thought what and pressed the button again, same thing happened
Damn boot, its broken !!
Then I realised my key was in my jacket pocket and the car does not allow you to lock your key in the boot
Good car !!!
Still in awe of all the tech in this machine

Mine is creaking aargh

98% it's perfect but I've been hunting them down and have been getting to know my interior and how this car is essentially clipped together (like most modern cars).

So far gummi flegr applied liberally along any friction points with felt tape seems to work. For now this seems to have fixed it and I'm sure the dealer would have done something similar but if it comes back badly maybe a new trim piece is required.

I have no idea why BMW uses such cheap hard glossy plastic at key points.

Over the last week the car has delivered some faint cracking and popping plastic tension noise from the shadow gloss black plastic trim on the B pillar on the driver's side. On closer inspection it appears that some of the plastic is very very slightly warped and very slightly misaligned (about 2mm. It looks worse in the photos).

I have been able to push it back a bit better but you can see the driver's side is not quite flush whereas the passenger side is perfect (it looks worse in the pics than it is).

You would probably never notice unless you looked (I never noticed until now) because its all black.

Apparently this is not an uncommon problem. The popping noise comes from the plastic rubbing the bare metal. The slight misalignment in the front b pillar black trim causes slightly more pressure on the rear door gloss black which caused some more creaking. If you push where my hand is it will pop and creak.

The fix is running felt tape under the lip and pushing it in as far as possible. See pics. This is completely damped any plastic tension pop on the rear door and removed about 85% of pop front the front trim. I can completely man handle the rear B pillar plastic trim without a creak. The front still creaks with strong hand pressure but it is much more damped.

Great pix mate !!
Mine is also creaking a bit now so I will apply your formula

Could you tell me what gummi flegr is please I have searched it up but cant find it , is it known by another name ?
Thanks

Yes, Comfort, Sport... I like it to start in Electric, and it does sometimes, and other times goes to the equivalent of Comfort (Hybrid)

Nope mine has never done that, always defaults to comfort, maybe its your firmware version, does your "e" car have a special version?

I found the fatigue assistant is a bit unreliable. After 150km continuous driving, lots of yawning and associated noises, a few lane keeping reminders - doesn't do a thing.
Next day, after stop-start 10 minutes in the city it says I need a break.
???
Does anyone know what is being used to determine "fatigue" in our cars?
Eye movements /lane drift / comparison trip data?

Often idrive forgets WHO I AM so have to drive in guest settings because connected drive refuses to connect to my profile. No key change. Recent phenomenon. I could make the guest settings identical to my profile but that's beside the point.
