Not everyone warms up to design. I have accepted it for what it is, because there's no way I can't since it won't change, but I don't support it.
For example I hated the 2GC, 7LCI, 1er and X5 front end when they first revealed. To this day I still hate the 7LCI, they ruined that front end, as if people didn't hate BMW driver's enough now they can see the oversized grills blocking their view, I still find the 2GC a disproportionate and frumpy failed attempt at trying to be a status symbol, the 1er still looks like a rat with giant teeth from the front, and the X5's front end still looks a bit over-styled. Not to mention every car I see has a front plate that overlaps the grill which isn't helping. I don't think my opinion of the 4er will change when I see it in person.

Yep, they are. BMW allows customers to option in M seats in non-M cars anywhere outside of the NA market.

Nah
That'll take some time to grow on me if ever! X7 never managed to do so and BMW has lost me as X5-7 client since!!!

Not a fan of the waterfall grill or interior electronic gauges or cost cutting HVAC controls on my M340, but the thing drives beautifully and is a LOT less annoying than my last three M3 daily drivers.
As for the steering, the electric steering of today will never replace the old school hydraulic steering for feel and confidence. I have an older narrow body Porsche 993. Nothing steers like an air cooled Porsche. |

I still don't like the grille but I thought it was a fun commercial. Reminded me of the older Golf commercials. If this were their only ad for the car its a miss but I'd guess its just a small part of the marketing push. I actually can't remember the last car commercial in the US that wasn't overly serious.

Of course, but BMW's EPS is still behind Porsche, Alfa, and even Cadillac....and it's on purpose. "Ultimate Driving Machine" used to mean BMW was heads and shoulders above the competition, and they delivered every time.

There's been comments like yours on every one of those threads you mentioned and it's yet to really happen. That's telling, because you'd normally be right, but it's not happening in this case....
