Certainly sounds good! I don't like the wheels or slammed look but that's ACS style and clearly a lot of people do!
Its a shame the standard exhaust surrounds do not connect to the actual pipes as that would look fantastic. |

That would be tricky as the exhaust grows in length at least 12-15mm when it gets hot, so if you connect the surrounds to the rest of the exhaust they need to be independent of the rear bumper.

In reality a B3 would be a lot more than that, as you'll get quite a bit of list price discount / dealer contributions on an M340, whereas you'd be lucky to get anything on an Alpina. If money were no object though, Alpina would be where my money would go. I'm seriously considering a D3 as my next car in a couple of years time.

I looked at a D3S this time...no discounts (to mean anything), poor residuals versus list price, and as many options required as a 3 series. However I tried I could not make it stack up no matter how much I wanted an Alpina. Went RS4 instead - a bit more exclusive than a 3 series, a bit more affordable than an Alpina. To be honest, not much quicker than an M340i and probably no quicker at legal speeds... but I prefer the looks and interior, and not that much more than a highly specced M340iT on the monthlies due to much better residuals...

Yeah I was thinking that - they'd look better if they were more flush with the bumper

The exhaust was hot when I took the photos, they are about half an inch more tucked in when cold. Even so, not what I would describe as "subtle".

I guess subtle and ACS arent meant to go together. Shame really as better and different without being shouty are key attributes to me.... |

Same, which is why the milltek offering which uses the OEM fake tips apppeals to me, plus it's a third of the price. Of course it lacks the warranty protection, and need to hear it first.
