Yes but you have to actively select the sport brake setting or it’ll stay in comfort mode.

M1 or M2 only select your preferred settings if you have set them up. If you haven’t, they don’t do anything!

As if anyone ever even needed a 3 series. Dumbest argument I have heard lately. The want for CS is just slightly more than the want for a standard or comp M.

And stop DMing me, I am calling the cops

People are posting rates on here and it’s well over $2000 . This is what is happening now on cars with 88k price tags with current rates. You’re not getting into an M3 Comp under $2000 a month.

Wow, I learned something new. Thanks! I always assume that M1 and M2 switched the brakes to sport - the transmission and sound certainly does.

It switches the engine, transmission, brakes, sound, suspension, traction to whatever they are programmed to.

Your dealer may have set them up for you? But I’d check. Mine is set-up so that M2 is full attack mode and M1 is full comfort mode. Apart from the brakes which are always in sport.

That would be really really stupid to lease and pay 72k to lease an 88k car for 3 years.

Unfortunately that’s where we are now with inflation. M340’s are over $1000 a month

No you just buy the car. Leasing these cars you have mentioned for those prices is financial suicide. A terrible, stupid move.

Mine is $2100ish at $120k all inclusive, tax, etc. Sounds legit, but I have an older rate too.

I’d guess most people are in the $1800-$2200 range on a comp unless they forgo options and get a “base” comp.

Except not everybody wants to buy one and be paying 1700+ a month for 5-6 years. I’m guessing most people are leasing these. If somebody is already dropping that money on a car I doubt it’s financial suicide for them.

The car is in the most efficient and comfortable settings by default, so there’s no need to configure M1 that way - just in case you didn’t know.

Yup, and they raised the prices again. Unless you’re putting a significant amount down which is dumb on a lease after taxes etc your payments will be that with current rates.

So you can offload the car in 2 years or etc. financing the car doesn’t mean you own it for 5-6 years, doing a lease deal for 2000/month on an m3 is lighting money on fire. There is no circumstance where that is a good or logical move.

Leasing these is horrible, just a terrible deal

I doubt that’s accurate but I can only speak for F80 CS as I’m not really up to speed on the G80. The 2018 CS models had many upgrades from the non CS. Top quality factory installed Carbon fiber front splitter, hood bonnet, spoiler, and diffuser were CS specific and worth 12-13k and you didn’t have to pay someone to have them properly installed. . Wheels were special lightweight units specific to the CS. CS specific seats earned the CS an individual badge. Interior was adorned with Alcantara and a CS specific steering wheel. Suspension, chassis, differential and MDM software settings were all CS specific. BMW didn’t just guess at those settings either. They were developed on a test track by factory drivers, which of course BMW has to build into the MSRP. And yea, the stock CS looks pretty bad ass compared to base models and it’s kind of cool to have bragging rights to the limited CS badge.

Personally after driving both I thought the 20k I paid over a F80 comp was well worth it. A “tune” and suspension does not make a CS in my opinion.

But if you wanna buy a car that you can drive on a daily basis, enjoy on a trak day, and move your family without any particular sacrifice, a car that holds the value.. the M3CS is a great car.
M3CS is not some daily commute car, but - great car none the less. As a daily it is too thirsty, too small rear seats, and too loud/harsh. But of course magazines make you think its some great daily. It is not.

It takes too much fuel to be commute car, its suspension by default cant be too comfy, the engine and clutch - will it like the stop and go traffic, etc. I dont know, feels like it wont.

My only reference is my friend who has the M5 Comp and he got it because reviews said its a perfect daily and it most certainly NOT a daily. Its too small inside for a family, its thirsty, its kinda loud and harsh, and he has the facelift, not the 2018 car which had even harsher suspension. So I dunno when people say perfect daily describing M cars, are they reading BMW and magazines only or they really tried it...

I read magazine reviews that said 911 is a good family car if kids are small, it fits a lot, etc. While true in 10% of situations it certainly is not a daily in that way, and its sound deadening is not good in any model year, they are all loud (to a point of having conversation much is not possible when driving).
Well, I was skeptic but once you set the car in comfort mode, it’s not bad at all. Out of the gas and insurance debate (which is just a financial matter), the drawbacks are:
- frozen white matte color requires the PPF. It’s easy to be damaged and it cannot be polished.
- the carbon fiber front lip is at risk. Not too low but I anticipate I’m going to damage it soon
- the bucket seats are okay, but going in and out requires some adaptation
- I had a golf R ‘22 so the space is the same
- storage conpartments are minimal, but I don’t like to eat or drink anything out of the water in the car, so it’s not a big problem to me.

Overall the perfomance is really close to a porsche, but it’s more usable IMO.

No, if you think it's not worth it, it's not.

I certainly don't think a GT3 or 911 Turbo is twice as thrilling as a G8X, but many do. And maybe so would I, if I could stomach paying $200k for a GT3, for me to drive like 10k miles/year or less.

And I damn sure don't think a V12 Ferrari could give me 4 times the feeling (at like $400k) that a G8X gives me, especially when you factor in Ferrari's ludicrous maintenance costs and such, but if you have the money, sure, maybe it's "worth" it, to you.

Scully, worth is like beauty, it's in the eye of the beholder.

Not to shit on your parade, but that's cause you can't afford it. People that have the money, don't need to justify anything, and just get them because they can, because they want it, and because it's best of the best. I'm there with you, but if I was making bank, i would have a gt3 in a heart beat. Guess gotta just work harder and maybe I'll be there. 😂

100% accurate. Leasing this car is worst decision. No matter how much money u have. U can buy it (finance or cash) and sell (trade in if u want tax break on next car) and u will for sure end up in better place the leasing this thing at current rates.

I daily mine. The buckets are a little aggressive climbing in and out but it’s no big deal. And I’m 6’3” 240lbs. The car isn’t meant to feel like riding on a cloud, and it’s not … but it’s also not harsh. My GT4 and 3/4 ton GMC truck are bother more harsh. The M3 is also pretty quiet on the road. Exhaust is adjustable and can be mostly silent and the tire noise really isn’t bad. Speaking of tires, the wide tires and aggressive-ish stock camber makes it slightly darty but only compared to a Yukon/Truck.

The worst daily driving part is the stupid electronic HVAC controls. How they didn’t make them a permanent part of the huge screen is beyond me. Air recirc setting is in a freaking submenu. Worst part of the car by far.

I haven’t driven any other G80s but I had two F80s a few years back. I miss a manual trans but overall, this car is excellent. The massive amounts of carbon fiber inside and out along with the little tweaks here and there are likely to contribute to the high price tag. It seems like a lesson in diminishing returns at this level, but it sure is a nice package. Now to sell the GT4 and track the 3CS a little!
