Wide scratches

Hi,

Just scratched my car really bad today. Does this even seem possible to be DIY'd? Or is going to an auto body shop my only choice? I've watched a bunch of YouTube videos, but none of them deal with scratches as large as this. Thanks.

Bro, there is no YouTube DIY video that's going to show you how to fix that, definitely body shop repair. Maybe insurance will cover it? Comprehensive insurance?

You could possibly buy a new fender and replace it yourself. If the shop is willing to spray paint and match it to your car's color you can take the fender to the shop and get it painted first. Then remove the old one and install it yourself. Cost wise it might be a little bit more than getting a shop to do the whole thing.

Replacing a rear fender is definitely not a DIY job lol.

OMG...lol. I thought that was the front fender. If it's the rear quarter panel then yeah it's most likely not possible as DIY.

So the other option is to find a paintless dent removal and smooth out the metal and then get that area painted. This could be the cheapest option.

That looks way beyond a PDR fix, no matter how good the
person is at PDR.
