Modifying the G8x M3/M4 bumper

This was my quick and dirty mod. I left the slats in purposely because I wanted to see what can be accomplished just by changing the finish color.

Post pics of your tweaks, chops, and custom bumper designs. Let's see what we can come up with.

Possible solution for the G82 front grill and bumper:

Paint the front bumper mounter (or beam) behind the grill in the same colour as the car. It's black like the grill.

By painting it, you will precieve a continuous visual effect and the grill will be seen as 2 separate segments (above and below).

just my cents

Let me know what your thoughts about it.

I love to read those ideas and i'm sure one or two will actually see the light .... but another possible solution: wait to see the car in person

Like or dislike a central design piece of a car any attempt to significantly change the look of it will make the car look like a butchered, awkward homemade car. For those not liking the tall grilles the best option is another car, unfortunately for them.

Sorry solstice, I’m not taking the bait. You seem to be taking this particularly personally so I will let you alone to sort that out. All I ask is that you please keep it out of this thread from here forward. I’d like to keep the focus of this thread to positive, creative solutions and constructive feedback.

I honestly don’t have too strong an opinion. Do I think the front end is a strongly compelling design in stock form? Not really, no. On the other hand, I like the rest of what I see so far, and I wouldn’t be inclined to obsess over one or two objectionable elements.

The reason I created this thread is to share some ideas. Where there is uncertainty, anger, fear, and other such emotion, I find a small dose of critical thought can make a difference. I also think it’s inevitable that the aftermarket will see an opportunity to provide owners with parts (just as they always do) to customize and improve this vehicle as they wish. So I thought I’d both have a go and create a place where others can share too if they like.

The body colour bumper and blacked out lower grill goes a long way to changing the look, but if there was a way to "stop" the protrusion forward of the bonnet as it connects to the grill. It seems disjointed and added on.
I have no cgi skills, so no attempt to show visually what I mean!
Moving the grill back into the bonnet would make it appear less like it was protruding forward of the car.
Probably not possible to change that by modding the bumper, unless material was added to either side of the grill... but that would change the overall length, bonnet length and front width dimensions... plus the lights might appear "sunken in".
Just curious if anyone can successfully play with, and improve the front end.
