UK Recall - Track Rod Ends?
Hi all,
Saw online that there is a recall on my G20 from 1st July 2020 (according to the govt website). Anyway, booked my car in today to update the iDrive and they have mentioned that the car is having the track rod ends replaced under recall now as well. Anyone else had this done? Slightly concerned about their ability to align it afterwards... I assume it is this - (U.S site) https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2...d-recall.shtml Last edited by Amos91; 07-01-2020 at 05:43 AM.. |

Yes the tie rod ends was announced about 3 weeks ago. It affects early build cars only so I'm one of those. I tried calling dealership yesterday but phone kept ringing out so will be calling again later today.

I got told in the end the parts aren't available till August, so I'd get them to order them in first...

Just checked mine and no recall... I'm June 19 build, so I wonder what range is affected?

The bit that attaches the steering arm (track rod) to the front hub. In the picture below it’s the piece which is labelled ‘ball joint’ at the hub.

On my previous F30, I had two new steering racks fitted. I was also worried about alignment. I had the work done at Williams Stockport. Spot on both times. I hope they do as good a job checking the alignment after this recall. |

A quick update.... Got the car back and the track rod ends have been replaced. They also completed a wheel alignment.

Replacing track rod ends means they should always do wheel alignment.
