Have you taken your M340i to the track?
Has anyone tracked their M340 with proper tires of course, if so any issues or anything to keep an eye out for?

Also interested in anyone's track experience.......I am scheduled at Summit Point in September and would like to get up to Watkins Glen this Fall.....I am going to try the M340 out with my PS4 street tires but with track pads and ATE brake fluid.
I'm not expecting it to match my M2 on track but I may be pleasantly surprised...

Let us know if you find track pads for 340. I was not able to. Hawk dtc 70 would work but no fitment
Also there was another thread on transfer case overheating at hard driving. Would be interesting to see how it lasts through 20 min sessions. Its an interesting indicator for Bmw awd system in future m3 |

I'm not tracking mine yet as I have an e92 m3 track car but quite curious to see other folks pave the way. Btw, I noticed the Supra front brake calipers look the same as ours, perhaps the pad shape is also the same in which case we should have lots of track pad options.

Brotherhef ,
Finally, got to take my M340 to VIR a few weeks ago. I have Michelin AS 3+ tires, but everything else was stock OEM; think next time I'm going with track brake pads. Absolutely, it handled exceptionally well, handling the roller coaster & hog pens without any body sway at all. I say that because my now retired F30 had a lot of body sway in that area. Please let me know if you have any specific questions

Brotherhef ,
My F30 had regular suspension & had manual transmission, but only had a top speed of 129. When I had to brake strongly, particularly coming off the straights, I realized that I needed track brake pads -- it might be the weighted theft that Iwas able to carry more speed; also, I didn't use the paddles, rather just automatic sport shift, which was very smooth, using 3rd to 5th gears & spooling engine down as I came upon several of the turn complexes. Honestly, I couldn't feel the weight difference, but as I said previously, the car handled very well -- compared to the F30, negligible body lean on turns

danf72,
I didn't opt for the ZTK option because the car is also my daily driver (and I'm a relative novice on the track) & didn't see the value of this package (additional cooling & performance tires) -- because I knew that I would swap out the run flat tires for Michelins (and I am a big fan of Michelin tires, having put them on every car I've had once OEMs wear). Having had the car on the track at VIR (didn't notice any overheating), I still don't see benefit of additional cooling, but that may be due to my level & the way HPDEs (about 30 minutes of track time with about 1 1/2 he break). If you are racing or at a higher level of HPDE, ZTK may be good for you Hope that helps

How much is the ZTK option? Whatever it is, it's probably worth it if you really want performance where it counts. If you are just daily driving, you probably don't need it.

I took mine to the track, with stock tires lol.
No issues at all, it was over 100F and all the corvettes/older BMWs were overheating, mine was solid One thing to note is that if you are trying to run lower tire pressures the DSC won't stay OFF... so just try to deflate to your hot temps after a few warm up laps |
