Debadging - xDrive badge only!

Anyone removed their xDrive badge?

Thinking of removing it from my M340. Removed it from my F31 335d that I had previously as they are so ugly!

Removed both. The xdrive definitely has to go.

I'd take that off too but have yanked the model designation from mine and if I were lucky enough to own a Comp version of any model I'd be taking the Competition badge off.

I requested the xdrive badge specifically and the dealer will remove and clean it prior to delivery.

I got both of my badges removed prior to me collecting the car, looks cleaner. Unless you know what to look out for then it looks like most other 3 series out there.

I will be getting the badges removed from mine when it goes in to be detailed and I'm thinking I'll do the same as with my F31 and go for the complete de-badge (i.e. get rid of the M badges on the front wings as well as the badges on the tailgate). I prefer the understated look and would have had this done from the factory had it been an option!

I believe they can be removed quite easily yourself. My dealer said they do it once it arrives now using something similar to dental floss (I assume stronger) I think some fishing line would do the trick, you may then need something to safely remove the adhesive residue. Seems like I may be frowned upon for just leaving mine on haha

I actually removed my model designation badge myself last week with a view to replacing with a black one I bought (the chrome looked out of place)

But once off, I liked the clean look, so I've left it....

Very easy to remove badges. Carefully heat them up (hairdryer is fine), you can then use a floss to get under but once warm can just peel them off. Spray any residue with a glue and tar remover (ValetPro do a nice citrus one) and wipe with a microfibre. Job done.

How did you remove yours? I am getting tempted to remove mine now I've seen a few without.

I used dental floss buddy.
You can heat up the digits with a hairdryer, but I didn't as they are such small contact patched on the numbers....

Just take a section of floss (I used the tape kind) pop it behind the digit and use a sawing action whilst pulling through the adhesive tape and towards you (so the floss cuts close to the back of the digit and away from the paint)
Then roll off the excess with fingers, and finished with a tar and glue remover to clean up the final bits.
Quick polish over the area then to finish it off 👍🏼

First thing I did when I got the car home after purchase was to remove both the X drive and model designation badges.

Done with a hairdryer and WD40.

Much cleaner look to the back end of the car.
