Driver's side seatbelt is a bit difficult and awkward to buckle
One of the things that I am noticing about my G20 is that the piece the seatbelt buckles into on the driver's side is far below the seat and the space there is also tight, so each time I go buckle in my seatbelt I have to think about it so that there's less friction against my hand - it's not a smooth / mindless action like buckling the belt on the passenger's side.
Does anybody else find this? And is there a safety aspect to how it's set up, or can the position of the piece be extended or repositioned? Thanks. Last edited by RJCmmr; 07-05-2020 at 02:45 PM.. |

I know exactly what you’re talking about. You’re not the only one
PS - I realise I misread your post. For me, it's the space between the seat and B pillar that is a bit tight and my knuckles rub against the plastic there.

I use this kind of extender but mostly to silence the warning.

I thought it was the placement of the locking piece relative to the seat...regardless of the seat mechanism or the seat's height. But you may be right, might be different for the manual versus the automatic seat. Do you find the space between the seat and the center console tight, or no? (if I'm understanding right that you have the manual seat) |

I think I'll leave it alone. Not comfortable with extending the seatbelt even though it's certified, etc. I'll deal with it unless there's some kind of official way to change it. |

My brain goes into auto mod when I buckle up. I don't even notice the process so no problem. I do have a large friend (large laterally) and he really struggles with the seat belt... just like in Snatch (the movie):

Okay...so I'm no amateur but surprisingly I have had the same issue!...first world problems yes indeed. I've never once thought about buckling my seatbelt on ANY other car I've owned except this one. I don't know if it's the angle that I try to click the belt buckle into the latch or the height, but it's definitely now a conscious thing LOL.

Getaway driver LOL Today I extended the seatbelt "belt" in my hand before going reaching down to lock it and it helped a bit. |

Today I extended the seatbelt so I had a longer portion of it in my hand before reaching down to lock it and it helped. |
