Backless booster seat that doesn't cover the seat belt clasp?

Can anyone recommend a backless booster seat that doesn't cover the rear buckle hook? I have been trying several with no luck.

Not sure where you are, but in the UK the laws changed and it's made it quite difficult.

I'm not there yet with mine but my mate had a nightmare trying to find one that fitted in his A4 and met all the rules. He was so unsure he went with one with a back that fitted into the isofix points so it didn't cover the buckles and covered the rules:

Maxi Cosi seem to fit ok.

''From 1 March 2017 the rules on backless booster seats changed. These seats can now only be made for children taller than 125cm and weighing more than 22kg''.

I don't think we have that strict of rules here. It just goes by weight I think. The problem is BMW put the clasp so narrow that the seat totally covers it when the seat is centered. It's almost like I need to find some kind of extension. I just ordered 4 more off amazon. Hopefully one will work.

Yeah the rear seats are an odd design. Even a car seat with isofix only just fits and the buckle is so far down into the seat and doesn't extend it makes it very difficult to fit the seat belt over the car seat.

I've thought about extenders but many of the car seat manufacturers recommend against them here.

I think once my son is a bit older I'm going to have to get one of these: https://www.maxi-cosi.co.uk/car-seats/kore-pro-i-size

Buying a car seat in the UK requires a PHD to know what's best!

I'm going to try this Sparco from German Amazon... I'll let you know.

Hopefully the inward flare (is that a thing?) at the base makes it easy to buckle.

I use the Maxi Cosi Rodifix but it has a back. Nice and narrow, though.

You're not supposed to use extensions. They're considered dangerous and all car seat companies say not to use them.

I've got two Graco Turbobooster seats for my two sons. The seats don't block the seatbelt latches. My sons are able to buckle themselves- no issues.

Ah thank you. That's helpful. And it looks like the right seat.

I have the Graco TurboBooster LX, it is a highback booster but my daughter can belt herself in. They sell a version that doesn't have the back - and it should be the same just a little cheaper: https://www.gracobaby.com/en-US/belt...-system-103557

Here is the backless version: https://www.gracobaby.com/en-US/belt...booster-116283

We tried the backless version, but my kids still struggled to buckle in. I ordered these:

mifold Grab-and-go Car Booster... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H5VJKHA...p_mob_ap_share

These are legal, but yet again, my kids struggle to get the seat belt into the small gap before getting it into the buckle.

Were you using the TurboBooster with the Latch connectors? Thats the version I have and it helped to keep the seat from moving around when nobody was in it - I was able to position it just right so my daughter (who is 7) can reach down and put the buckle in and the Latch connectors hold it in place. It isn't always the easiest and occasionally I have to do it for her - but she is usually able to do it no problem.

We have mi-fold as well but only use it when traveling (there's also a a high-back version of the mi-fold which seems a little easier to buckle than the portable mi-fold).

The Maxi-Cosi model pictured above is available in the USA, but it is expensive for a booster: https://www.amazon.com/Maxi-Cosi-Rod.../dp/B07VJ51CSL

If you only need a backless booster - these ones are more narrow than the TurboBooster and more reasonably priced:

https://www.gracobaby.com/en-US/righ...trainer-8bq100 (but is designed for older kids 50-120 lbs and 5-12 years old).

Graco Turbo Go - https://www.amazon.com/Graco-Turbo-F.../dp/B07N3CQS76

Harmony Youth and Cosco Rise are also supposed to be narrow for backless boosters.
