FAKE LIST!
For example, I was told the G20 330i will have 300hp.
I will just leave it at that for now.

It will have 255hp according to prevailing leaked information:

http://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=901686

"B48TU in 30i vehicles will get a small power increase to 255hp. This is the engine G20 330i will come with."

Hybrid is yesterdays news, where is the EV 3 series, it supposedly be here sometime next year.

M or not it's all marketing. That's how it works. That's why BMW is incredibly successful and profitable.

The biggest marketing trick is convincing average Joe he needs a saloon car that doubles as a pseudo-racing car. Whether that has an M3 or M340i badge makes no odds other than profitability and how likely they are to spend more or the next model up next time. (Yes I know they are completely different cars, I am focusing on the process not the content)

Marketing that works isn't stupid.

But don't let that stop you from being so mad.

It is most certainly not scheduled for next year.

The lead off electric series vehicle is the iX3 according to current info, and that will come 2020. The electric 3 Series has no release date yet.

Also, we aren't going to discuss electric vehicles in this thread so please post any further thoughts about that elsewhere. Thanks!

Putting on my detective hat.

If M340i is xDrive and ZF8, then M3 should follow suit on the fact that M550i and M5 currently follow this formula.

If OP information is true, I think this would be the first solid confirmation that G8x M3 will NOT be RWD only and NOT have 6-speed manual.

I hope I'm wrong, but it's not looking good.

Everything I've read has said the new M3 will have an optional a 6 speed.

If yes, then shame on you, BMW.
or it will get an m sport version of the MxDrive found on the new M5 where you can transfer all power to rear wheels.
I was thinking the same. Doubt they will make it feel less sporty as a M-Performance model.

Lexus did the same thing with the second gen IS that debuted back in 2006. So no BMW is not turning into Kia.

But just think, you have a 3 series with more up than an E46 M3, and AWD. Tuners gonna go wild. Does this hint to an AWD M3?

And BTW, more people should be raving about Genesis G70, which has the same power train as the Stinger GT and is wrapped up in a more pleasing package.

I commute in rush hour traffic 45-60+ minutes each way in my manual transmission M4. Just leave some buffer space to the guy in front of you so you're not on and off the clutch as often.

In my opinion, it's not worth giving up the fun of driving a manual because of a commute. Hell, I'd go buy a beater for commuting before I'd give up that feeling of downshifting to second gear and going WOT.

It may come as a surprise to some that not every BMW buyer lives in SoCal . Or any sunny and dry place for that matter. Where I live, I'm ultra happy to rely on 4 wheel drive in my 370+ BHP car. With only rear wheels being powered, I'd need to use other means of transportation on more than 50% of days in a year (rain, snow)
Except bad news for anyone who wants to hit the track. X-Drive means heavy and understeer.
But no LSD on every non M since the E90 means one wheel drive and nuked rear brake pads. Screwed either way.
Much easier to slap a rear diff in. Just hope the ring gear is not welded like my 1er.
