Folding Mirrors

Really silly question.

Right hand drive car.

When the wing mirrors are folded in, is it normal for the drivers side one not to retract as much?

Yes it is. I had the same question myself a few months back after noticing the same thing. Searched the forums and it’s certainly a thing. Cannot remember why though!

It's due to the angle of mirror housing and how it's set for LHD.
RHD cars are the opposite way round to ours!

Ah that's brilliant. Looked at some used ones online and difficult to see.

Another weird BMW thing...........must be a reason why.
