Have you seen that there’s a thriving market for 3rd party buttons for the almost buttonless Tesla Model 3? I wonder whether we’ll see the same for ID.8 Beemers?

I'd like to think so otherwise I'll be sticking with my car until it qualifies for classic status VEL!

I'm too bloody old for ID8, Siri doesn't understand my Geordie accent, or even my wife's accentless born in Norwich accent, I don't like the look of the massive real estate that the screens occupy and still like to have some buttons to play with inside the car, although not as many as the massively overloaded Merc S class from yesteryear.

No offence to all those who love ID8 and have embraced its futuristic virtues, it's just not my cup of tea. Each to their own I say and I for one respect other's opinions, life is all about choices.

Oh come off it ... grasping a knob in your hand and giving it a yank is so much more satisfying than playing with the flaps

My problem is just with Waze - it launches right away in active guidance mode and interrupts even the native NAVI active guidance.
Did you solve this problem? Waze behaves annoying when hijacking BMW's native navigation.

Charlie, silly question but how do you disable Spotify from AA? I love Google Maps on AA but Spotify keeps dropping. Could I still launch AA to use Google maps but use the idrive Spotify? I also listen to Soundcloud on AA too hence the reason why I'd like to keep running AA in the background. Cheers mate

On your phone go to Settings \ Apps \ Android Auto \ Additional settings in app \ Customize launcher and then untick Spotify. This will stop it firing up as part of AA.

HTH.

I've programmed one of my 1-8 buttons as Nav to home and that will break out of Waze/Android Auto nav and go to BMW native nav.

Android Auto via Cable

I've been trying to get AA to connect via cable for better audio quality but am having no luck. Has anyone managed to connect AA via cable?
