You're right to deem this post as simply gauging potential interest.

I don't think anyone voting can be counted on for anything more than a possible interest. Until we see the 2-door, 4-door, and possible wagon variant in the metal I think it's all speculation. There will be a lot of people who say they're in, but won't pony up the Deutsche Marks for one new. That's likely the domain of the "You buy it new, I'll pick it up CPO'd" buyers, which results in the wagon remaining vaporware.

I'll say this - the guy in the UK, 63NP on IG, who did his own F81 touring - if BMW had built that and made it available in NA, I would own one now.

If they release an aggressively styled and big haunched wagon with 6MT and M xDrive to the North America market, I am likely in line, check in hand.

Fair question. His intention seems to be for those who are uninterested to simply ignore the thread. I've adjusted the topic title to more closely match the poll question, and to clarify that only those interested need click the thread.

Voted yes, because I think they are cool. Its not my cup of tea at the moment, but might be one day. I do like the idea of an e39 size M-wagon. Oh wait, this would be that

Strong words - count me in if it is AWD + wagon. Absolutely perfect daily for me...and yes, auto.

I would be one of the first to put my money down. especially if it were AWD. I'm sick of jamming hockey bags into my tiny trunk and sticks through the ski hole of my e90 M3. I have four kids and the wagon would be a dream.

In a perfect world, I'd love a touring with a stick.

I would buy one instantly instead of the M3CS I am considering right now, but it won't happen. Look at how poorly the CTS V Wagon sold along with the now defunct in the US S4. Would love to see them do a build to order setup like Volvo and Mercedes do with the V90/E63S wagons. Seems to be the best compromise since they are such specialty cars.

Leave it to BMW to likely miss a nice opportunity as the high-end wagon market is growing rapidly now:

Whilst it would be cool and how good would a F81 M3 touring have looked, I think it would only make sense if AWD to give it that all weather performance to be a direct competitor to the RS4.

However as I understand you don't get the RS4 or 6 in the US and China doesn't really buy wagons so you're left with the ROW.

And the market isn't huge the RS4/6 and the AMG wagons don't sell in the same quantities as the M3/4 does with the M4 outselling the M3 at least 3-1 so the sector seems to prefer a sport coupe to a sedan so what hope for the estate version in terms of volume?

From a business case POV who is the customer? Current M3/4 customers? Well that's just robbing Peter to pay Paul and if there is such a demand for a wagon why do Audi and AMG sell so few and limit in Audi's case the major car buying regions they sell them in, because what they see is a lack of true demand?

It would cool but I think they are wedded to the idea and volume of the M SUV X3/4/5/6M

Maybe but only if it comes with exhaust designed around a standard and partially hidden trailer hitch so I can mount a proper rear vehicle MTB rack.
