This is real news, the hints have been placed by BMW M via their media interviews the past 2 years. Just preparing everyone, just like the rumors of a AWD M5 for 3+ years prior release.

Great except M Car's front bumper's Lower Center is never shaped like that.

Only a Series Cars bumper has that shape.

I believe some of the possible options on the list but differently will not look like that. Its to similar to the current F80/82 with just minor tweaks to the exterior.

M had meant a "compromise car" that can be used as a daily driver and track toy for some time.

It has never been an all out sports car so this seems right on.

F80 was around 35xx lb and 420whp and it's better as a track toy out of the box than previous generations... if this g80 is lighter and more powerful that sounds great

Quite contradictory to the speculations emited by Autobild not too long ago.

I find this one from Car less believable than the one from Autobild...

Auto gearbox with Awd option means bmw is only trying to set good numbers on the board. Its becoming less and less about driver engagement and more about how fast they can make it. It?s becoming a beefed up 335

Hmmm awd 6 cylinder turbo...... sounds like I'll finally get my midsize German 4 door GTR. (BMW Just keep the size and weight down. Length, width & height). I have no issue with AWD on a street-track combo car.
I just don't want an M5 because it is too big and heavy.

Going to have to sell me on that automatic though. I'm pretty much set on my PDK.

I wonder how much power is attributed to the hybrid system. Honestly I was hoping for 500+ standard and no water injection.

Also starting to sound like an Audi B9 rs4, but hopefully much lighter.

Feedback welcome. Cheers.

Right, I agree and I probably used the wrong technical term when I said parasitic loss. I was referring to whatever exhaust back pressure that may exist giving it's not as free flowing because of the turbos. It may simply not matter like it can with a NA motor. I don't have enough technical knowledge to speak to this with any certainty. Not sure how exhaust scavenging and velocity impacts an I6 turbo engine. Anyone with experience on this would be great to hear from.

that's what they said about turbo cars...and you drive one...

it's just the way it is. once hybrid engines are the norm you'll have something else to complain about. cars running on high quality h20
I actually think hydrogen is the way of the future since it takes coal to get electricity still in a time efficient manner sooooo........

Interesting! Even though not so sure about the hybrid part! Because expensive and heavy! Very likely AWD on and off like the F90 and ZF8 torque converter. S58 engine for sure and no crazy tricks in aero or rear wheel steering.

I know I leased my F80 but I might hold onto it for a long time. And you'll have to pry my E46 keys out of my dead hands before I give that car up. I think the days of internal combustion motors are numbered.
