BMW, if you are reading this, please make ASD adjustable via iDrive. Audi has it under drive select individual settings. Make it able to turn off completely too. Seriously, it's probably like 5 lines of software coding. iDrive can adjust everything else, make this a setting too!

Thank you.
Code it off, not hard bud.

You shouldn't have to.

My point is that one, multiple journalists mentioned how loud and obnoxious it is. So either BMW is fishing for feedback or they are oblivious. Two, it's an easy thing to add to iDrive. Coding isn't hard, in that spherical trigonometry or physical chemistry is HARD, however hooking up a laptop to your car is way more difficult than simply scrolling through iDrive.

The jig is up. BMW tried to sneak ASD past us so many years ago. Now everyone knows it's there. And moreover everyone is doing it. The loaner Macan I am driving today has it as part of the Sports Exhaust. But as I said, Audi, VW and others allow you to change it right in your settings. So should BMW. Should not require coding.

So like how are they going to say larger tire but they are he same size. I'm interested to see how it looks without a lot of the crap on it. I like my F30 but personally feel like stuff was rushed on this chassis a little. Like the EB paint color. For whatever reason it doesn't react well with the top/clear coat and mine is peeling away from the car in sheets in my bumper. And it's garaged. Interior is one of my favorites so it great to see there is more mechanical feedback which is my biggest gripe while driving, steering feedback is vague.

The question of interior quality is also on my mind. My previous F30 335i developed many interior sounds: road imperfections resonating and causing buzzing sounds where panels were not secured well enough, creaking sounds, and any more.

This really stuck out in my mind when reading as well. As much as I appreciate the fact that they even register the difference between proper driving and the more casual one-handed methods, I am not a big fan of engineering to the "least common denominator" method they are using here. Make it feel correct if you are driving correctly and let the others suffer. Or find a balance. Or make comfort geared towards one-handed and sport/sport+ for those of us who drive right (and allow the driver to create a custom mode with any of the settings for steering/throttle response/suspension tuning/etc and store that as "User1," "Custom" or whatever you want to call it.

Yeah.... I doubt that reviews are 100% independent & wonderful.

*greatest car in history* as said of nearly every other new premium vehicle.
I'll gladly wait for the M3 for the intrigue, otherwise, see you next generation.

What things were wrong with it?

Asking since my lease will be up in Feb 2020 so I'll have one of the earlier guinea pig M340is.

Mainly the new electric steering rack was a hot mess. Very light and almost no resistance at high speeds. Very un-BMW like. The suspension was soft like a Toyota too. Even in sport+ mode.

Both issues have been since acknowledged and remedied by BMW via software updates and ECU flash. But it took two long years before they did anything. I was too impatient and sold my car 6 months after taking delivery.

BMW totally redeemed themselves with those updates too. I love how the updated ones drive!

Wow, sounds horrible. I've had only the 2015 F30 335i and 2016 F30 340i so I guess I missed the messed up versions of this car.

I have to agree. Sometimes it works out that the first gen has no issues but often you gotta let the car make it to mass production, get the bugs shaken out and get fine tuned.

That said, I feel like this model looks too much like a small 5-series and less like an aggressive & sporty 3-series.
