Whoa... Have you seen the new M3 renders?
https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1635123
Just saw these... what do you all think of the new M3? TBH, I literally laughed out loud upon first impression. Have to admit though, I have this deeply ingrained force of BMW loyalty pulling me back in. I suppose it is a throwback to vintage BMW models... 3.0 cs, 503, 328 Roadster, etc. Last edited by Sail Boat; 07-18-2019 at 11:46 AM.. |

I think it’s gonna look mean AF in coming up in your rearview mirror.

It doesn't look bad, but without my glasses on, it totally looks like an Audi grille upon first glance because the divided center is not that apparent in comparison to how large the kidneys are. I think it would look far better if it didn't extend below where the lower 2 horizontal slats are located. Basically, if it was shortened from the bottom just a tad, it would look terrific. As it is now, however, it just extends far too low. Just my opinion, of course.
It also looks like the G20 3-series tail lights will make it to the M3. This is unfortunate as the tail light design is bland and doesn't suit the rest of the car. The upcoming 4-series tail lights (and presumably M4's as well) are going to look far better from what I've seen in the most recent spy shots. The 4-series is going to look better than the 3-series this time around, which isn't the case with the current F8x generation where the M3 definitely looks better. Kind of sucks because a lot of people who want a practical car with 4 doors and won't be taking their car to the track will be looking at Audi RS and AMG competitors based on looks alone. BMW should have kept with the theme of making the M3 the more aggressive, stylish looking car over the M4 to bolster sales.

I'm sure that giant grill will be great for feeding air into all kinds of heat exchangers...but its so ugly it makes the M2C's grill look good. Or is this a trolling post?

Here's hoping that if it is real, they don't do it to the M2. It really would cement the M3/4 as the car for douches that just want to show off

Fortunately this is only a "render" based on "spy photos", etc., etc. It is absolutely hideous. MarkDemma, I don't think even M3/M4 "douches" would be caught dead driving this. Lets' hope the real product is much closer to the M850/M8.

Not gonna happen...won't be that different from G20 3 and 4 series. Somebody's smokin' the wacky terbacky after viewing the new grilles on the X5 and X7.

First time I've ever looked at an m3 and said I would never buy based on looks. Also, likely it will be heavier, no manual or dct. I think it's clear that the M brand is no longer a leader. There will be way better cars for the money.

You can tell it's a unreliable, low-quality, poorly supported vehicle from the grille?

When I saw the first X5 / X7 renders, I thought they were joking with the front end. They weren't
