2020 M340 tune

This is my first BMW and my first turbo, so bare with me.

It’s my understanding that the 2020 M340 has come from the factory with a more aggressive/less restricted tune AND possibly a better turbo than the 2019 model.
Thoughts?
Either way, I was looking at the JB4 and JB+ to spice it up even more. I connected with a guy from Burger and he explained that the JB+ wouldn’t even move the needle since the factory tune is so much better this year. He said that I’d have to use map 2 on the JB4 to see any gains.

That being said, if I’d have to be at map 2 to see anything, what kind of overall gains can I expect? I have no plans for any other upgrades at this time.

Thanks in advance for any help!

There is no 2019 M340i is there? 2020 is the first year of it.

I’m pretty sure there’s been a m340 for a few years. Definitely a 3 series with the B58 engine

Also the F30 B58's I believe came with a 335 HP engine. Compared to the new M340i with a all new revised B58 with 382 HP stock

Again, my apologies, I’m new to this.

Ok so back to my most important questions; with the B58 coming from the factory with an already fair amount of power, what kind of numbers should be realistic with a JB4 map 2?
Are high 11s realistic?

So would the JB4 off a f30 335 work on this new platform? I was going to sell mine but hey if it works I'm good!

Just install the JB4 on the m340, and went for a ride and collect some logs.

Running map2, and the car is a beast... I will run a dyno in next days to see the formal gain, but to explain you, map2 increase of 4 psi the turbo values. I got spikes to 21 psi. Normally is around 50hp increase at the wheel.

Excited to see results! Are you okay to run Map 2 without any supporting mods? From what I remember on the N55 (I know the B58 is completely different), they suggested at least a downpipe for Map 2.

Map2 is suggested for stock car with 91 octane

Map3 stock car with 93+ octane and is +6psi. Haven’t tried that yet

Did you get the Bluetooth kit? If so, was it worth the extra $130?

I didn’t until today
There is no access to the map settings through dash yet. Terry gave me an update firmware that works on previous digital dash but not on the current one installed on m340. Hence I decided to order the Bluetooth module so I can change maps and also log without the need to connect my laptop

Next week I will be traveling so I won’t be able to try it out but when I’m back I will report on the Bluetooth kit

21psi is getting up there. What is stock psi range? I had JB3 on my old 335i back in the day but i don't remember the psi being nearly that high.

Stock turbo peak at 16psi

I had a stage 1 on mini jcw (b48) for 4 years. Running at 21psi with no issue on 91octane

But I agree might be at limit

Heard back from Dinan this morning, just that the car is still being evaluated. I'll check back in a month or so.

Well, what we do know is the Z4 Dyno'd in the 370's and is also rated at 382hp. I'd imagine the M340 will be similar. I'm hope mine gets delivered either Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. I'm down to Dyno.
