Angry 2023 M340i iDrive 8 Instrument Cluster Dead

3 months ownership with less than 2,000 miles on the vehicle. I was driving back home and suddenly my screen went completely blank on me with no digital analog. Then it proceeded to flash white screen at me like the car was having a seizure during night time ~ blinding me to the point I had to pull over to the side and just take off my jacket to cover the screen. The right infotainment screen still works perfectly though.

Tried resetting the screen with no luck. Sometimes it turns white, sometimes it turns orange, sometimes blue, or flat out black screen. I have an appointment schedule for next Monday to have the dealership to check it out. Unfortunately couldn't get an earlier date because service appointment were full. I would assume this is a big safety hazard since I don't even know how fast I am going now, how much gas I have left, and the blinding lights when it flashes at you.

Anyone experienced this? Or I'm just very unlucky.

RIP, likely the whole thing needs to swapped. One of the drawbacks of moving everything digital

My 23’ M340i has not had this issue, knock on wood

Most likely. Hopefully BMW doesn't give me any pushback and that they are able to repair everything through the warranty without costing me a penny.

Why would they? Its a brand new 2023 car. Absolutely covered under warranty. Don't even worry about it.

Sorry for the lack of update. Lost my account information on here and got lazy to recover. But here is an update:

Sent the vehicle into service. They reset the head units, updated it, and has been working completely fine ever since. They told me if it does happen again, they might need to replace the entire head unit but it will be cover under the warranty.
