It still doesn't add up. My car arrived at the port on December 18. Since the prior ship from Mexico got held up, 2 ships full of BMW's arrived at Bayonne/Newark within 5 days (mine was on the second of the 2). It was holiday time, and still the car was delivered to my dealership within 4 days of the ships arrival in Bayonne (I took delivery on Dec 22).

My new G26 is here. Going to get the wheels powder coated then pick it up. Doing paperwork tomorrow and checking to make sure everything I ordered is on the car. They sent me pictures. Looks pretty nice. No deletes, no shipping damage. Car is loaded with everything except cooled front seats which are not available in the red leather for some weird reason. Some port installed items. I really like the MPerformance spoiler and door sills. I have RW Carbon DTM Splitter going on as well as new dimpled and slotted MPerformance rotors, Dinan CAI, Dinan strut bars powder coated red, PPF, window tint. Then - I am done for now as I am out of cash!!

Everything I read from BMW says there should be some additional build time due to my paint choice, but my rep didn't say anything specific about it. Since there hasn't been any progress since actually placing the order I can't say at this point. Hoping there isn't but I guess we'll see soon...

And yeah, I love the dark gray color. The gold was a little off putting at first, because in the showroom light it was really showing through, but once I took it outside in more normal light it became this discreet and hidden character of the car and I made up my mind then.

Originally placed an order for a 2023 330e xdrive on Jan 6, 2023 and was told March build but I didn't realize they didn't actually have an allocation. They were going on the assumption they would get an allocation. As of March 10th they had still not received one. I found another dealer that had a car on order similar to what I wanted so I called. It was a customer order so it was not available but they told me they had a car sitting in status 112 with a week 15 build and it was mine if I wanted it. I jumped at that. The only difference is that it is a 330i xDrive instead of the 330e. I think I really lucked out. Below is current status and details.

Did you actually see the Exterior Body Assembly Begins and In the Paint booth steps? I tell you that I can’t imagine anyone checking as often as I do and I didn’t see those 2 steps yesterday. This AM it says Final Assembly

Mine skipped both of those steps as well and I was checking daily at a minimum. It's likely because the site lags behind a few days.

I check twice a day lately. I had a week 11 build, but it was not moving until yesterday. From last night to this morning, it went through Assembly In Progress, Quality Check, and Final Assembly.

My SA told me the actual build takes about 50 hours from start to finish, so I am not surprised by the progress,

If you placed your order 5 months ago and just got to order received, I’d look for a new dealership. They definitely aren’t working to earn your business.

I know allocations are always constrained but this seems ridiculous. In 5 months, you should’ve already been at “Scheduled for Production” or better yet even have your car by now.

IIRC, the 4 series I believe always retained the puddle lights. This feature was deleted from the 3-Series LCI models
