Howdy, y’all. Deal is done on a replacement car.

If you are interested in Dravit Grey with Mocha leather in pristine condition let me know asap.

I know some of you specifically want Dravit Grey, because I’ve seen your posts and I’ve received a few PMs about it.

The asking price is $47,900. It has about 25,500 miles. It’s under the new car warranty until 10/26/23. It is fully loaded, except no adaptive suspension. It has brand new Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus performance all season tires, staggered 225/40/19 x 255/35/19, on 792M wheels.

This is a great car and if I keep it I won’t be heartbroken in the least. But, the reason I’m looking at swapping is that I’m kind of old school and it’s just a little techie for me. I miss the simplicity of the F30. I was a little concerned about this when I made the decision to switch to the G20. I have found a 2018 F30 340i M Sport that is virtually identical to my previous car, except it’s a color combo I like even more.

Just fyi - a little more skinny on the pricing. I’ll just mention from what I’ve been seeing 2020 M340i’s have actually been increasing somewhat in price for the last 2 - 3 months. In addition to here I’m real active on an M340i Facebook group and quite a few of them have been buying 2020s lately and prices have been going up. I gave $47,000 in mid-March. I spent a little over $1,650 on the new tires and new TPMS sensors.

This little tidbit only applies if you’re in Illinois. Illinois has a very favorable sales tax structure for private party sales. The sales tax would be about 1/3 of what it would be if you bought this car from a dealer. For private party sales under $50k the sales tax is a flat $1,600. In most locations in Illinois the sales tax for this car purchased from a dealer would be $4,000 - $4,500.

The car had 22,700 when I got it. Before this last week I had only driven about 2,000 miles in three months. I took a trip to Kentucky this week and put about 700 miles on it. By the way, it was a GREAT road car!! I liked the active cruise control quite a bit. I didn’t use the self-driving (no interest in it), but I used the distance control and it works really well.

There’s very little flexibility in the price, but I’m not 100% inflexible. If I change cars I’m going to end up losing a little money, but I’m not willing to lose much. I have a great car and if I end up keeping it I’m not in a bad position.

Added a couple of screenshots for anyone stressing over the price. In my experience at this with many cars I have found that Edmund’s has the most realistic values and KBB is consistently high.

If I get the right price for this car I’m actually going back to a 2018 340i M Sport identical to the one I sold to get this car. If I hadn’t come across this perfect replacement I wouldn’t be doing this. I just miss the simplicity of the F30 and I prefer the more compact size. The size of the M340i never bothers me when I’m driving it, in fact I never even think about it, but I still prefer the smaller F30. And it doesn’t hurt my feelings to go back to RWD, which is my BMW roots.

$47,900. I think I probably could have gone a little higher, but I had already agreed to a deal. In the end I had six guys who wanted to buy it.
