Test drove during BMW event held at FedEx Field on 06 Apr 22, and I must say, the thing is wayyyyy faster than I thought. That 'torque' hit is neck snapping to say the least! Also, that instant response of the 'go fast peddle' is very nice! It makes for a right now driving experience!

Tried both the e40 and M50. Both are really impressive in terms of ride, handling and performance. If it wasn’t for the need to regularly drive on some cr@p roads in the UK I could have happily lived with the e40. We have an E46 330 convertible and in deep winter driving that just wants to swap ends so making both of us wary of going RWD only.

However the M50 specced up was only £2,500GBP more and given how quick it is off the line it was too tempting to resist for long. Add in the xDrive making it that much more sure footed it was a no brainer.

The Tesla 3 is cheaper but in the UK the lease costs are higher, and it just doesn’t do anything for us.

Just got to be patient for a year before it actually turns up now!

Hoping to get to test both out myself, but wife already had talked me down to an e40 which should be more than enough fun for my daily purposes. Glad to hear both are great though.

Finally got to test out the M50. Would have loved to drive both to compare, but was definitely pleased with the drive. My only other comparison is a Polestar2 test drive and this was better for all the factors that mattered to me. It definitely reinforced that ordering one was the right choice.

I didn't play around too much with the tech, but I think once widgets are set up it will definitely be intuitive. I know I went straight to adaptive break mode and adjusted some things for my comfort immediately and didn't have any issues finding what I needed.
