It adds 11 bhp. However the M340i doesn't have the hybrid technology and it still produces 374 bhp and 500nm torque |

Not as bad as I thought it would look. Months and months of planned strategic leaks to let us complain and vent steam was mostly successful. It's not as offensive as it was last year. The car is overall still too big for me, but I think the target demo will like this. I'm still not too fond of the M badge, but that's more about people's egos than anything else.
More room, lots of tech, striking styling. At least it isn't boring.

The MP parts don't make it any better.
First thing I went for was the black grille, then realized the plate just messes it up. Doesn't break it up nicely, evenly, or aesthetically. I pray they make a plate-less option. Because it's a waste of it's just going to be like this all day.

I hope, I really do, that in 2027 we won't say "the G22 looks better".
I do NOT like the G22 but what BMW is doing lately, it looks like every new model is "less beautiful" that its predecessor. The only new BMW that I absolutely love is the 8 series, except the digital instrument cluster (Mercedes and Audi have much better ones) Last edited by L27; 06-02-2020 at 12:59 PM.. |

Would love to compare these two....
"....Selecting the optional Live Cockpit Professional upgrades the displays to a 10.25 inch center touchscreen control display and a fully digital 12.3 inch instrument display....... "

They need to stop pretending this car is a sports car. The stripe at 12 and the front canards are tacky.

Not a fan of the design. The huge kidney grille is to big in proportion to the design of the M Sport front bumper. It looks like it was just stuck on.Then you have a smiley shaped opening in the bumper below the kidney grille. It is very noticeable on the Alpine White car and makes the front design of the car look ridiculous.
I also don’t understand why they need to keep making every new model larger and heavier than the previous model. The current 4 series is already to large and this car is 5 inches longer. They should have never made any 4 series larger than the E92. |

Eesh. Was hoping for a surprise. Hopefully M can still pull off some magic on the looks. I could (mayyyybe) overlook the huge grills if there wasn't a smiley face underneath.

Front doesnt look as bad anymore, the grin under the grilles isn't very pleasing though.
But the side profile literally looks like those 2004-2006 accord coupes, bland and generic.
