Why are you buying a M3 CS?
For those in here purchasing a M3 CS, and especially if you’re moving from another G80/G82, what are your reasons?

I have a Plaid and a X5 M50i for the family, as well as a GT 350 for my weekend runs to stretch my manual itch. The Shelby is only for me as I can’t bring 2 car seats and my wife won’t learn manual on in. So I wanted something fun and with a lot of soul and personality after driving the Plaid for the past 2 years. This will be replacing that as my 3000-4000 mile a year car. While the acceleration is out of this world spaceship like, that was where the fun ends. The CS will be the performance car that everyone can enjoy and I can also take to the occasional event, weekend trip, or track day as well. Win win.

The performance car that does the best job at being the most enjoyable to drive, can be bought brand new and fit 5 people. For me this is the ultimate daily driver until they invent a 5 seat GT2 RS with manual transmission 😆

I can draw parallel to getting an M3 over an m340i. It's simply more of what someone might want. There's nothing lacking in an m340i. But the m3 is just more... similarly there's nothing lacking in an M3... but an M3cs is just more of it. Throw in some exclusivity and it's hard not to know why people want it.

i randomly saw one this past week coming to a local dealership, made an inquiry and now i'm getting drawn in.
honestly the M3CS wasn't on my radar as i've been eyeing the much more low-brow, but still enthusiast minded, Integra Type S. honestly, the integra ticks boxes for utility, stick shift, driving enjoyment, basic features and to me is a "budget M3 6MT". many may scoff at that, but there are not many driver-focused manuals around. especially with 4 doors. i have had a GT4 for the past year (that I ordered with 6MT, buckets, headlight upgrade and little else) and have been tracking it a bit. I love it ... everything about it, honestly. the sounds it makes and the feels you get while driving it are unlike anything I have owned. but i've come to realize that what I enjoy about cars and car ownership is changing them up pretty often. time for a change. I had two F80s (DCT and 6MT) and found them to be VERY good all-rounders (family duty, fun commuter, a few track days per year). The price delta from G80 XDrive is a little bit of a question mark for me but hoping the little tweaks here and there come together to make this the "best G80 yet" which is what i'm hoping for. For me, the CS could be labeled as a "crime of opportunity" as this one kind of fell into my lap. it's not a perfect car for me, but i think it will be really exciting on the street and adequate for light track duty. for those reasons. I will likely commit to the car tomorrow. black, bronze/gold wheels, standard brakes. should be fun!

I don’t see any logical reason to buy a M3 CS outside of wanting to have something a little extra “special”, which is a valid reason.
