I also have a 2021 X5 and I can definitely say G20's steering wheel heating is not enough compared to G05's. X5's steering wheel heats up to a point where you'd wanna turn it off unless it's cold inside. G20's warmth is just to make you feel there "is" a heating option within the steering wheel but absolutely not enough to keep your hands warm when it's freezing cold outside.
I just wish there was a way to increase the warmth thru coding. |

I had a sport trim g20 loan car and it was no where near as warm as my msport trim wheel.
Not sure if the different wheel designs make a difference to the heat output. |

Can't find this anywhere in Bimmercode except for the seats. Care to share more details?
I'm going to crank up the cabin temperature to see if that makes any difference. It hasn't been that cold here but yeah when I turned it on yesterday @ 65 degrees cabin temp the steering was barely warm. |

I may be mistaken, I thought the wheel had the same settings as the seats.

Seats can be set in Bimmercode, but I've never seen the wheel. I think how much the wheel heats is just a factor of who makes the wheel for BMW and how it is made. The wheel on my X3 could also be used to boil water for tea. The wheel on my 650i just gets comfy warm, but nowhere near the X3. The X3 wheel is skinny by comparison, so I'm sure that's part it, but probably is not all of it.
