Ditto. Thinking that the charging function was standard, like it is in other high end cars, I put my phone in the "charging" slot and forgot it was there every time. Just use the slot for your sunglasses and the USB port for your phone. Much more useful!

Door

I keep mine in the door pocket at the moment. Seems easiest to get too. It is one gripe I have coming from Hondas/Acuras where sunglasses storage is so convenient up above. And in the SUVs it doubles as a rear-view mirror for checking on the child (when she was little) in the back seat.

I bought a brand new Samsung Note 10 Plus which definitely has wireless charging capability BUT my phone doesn't fit in the slot lol?!

Did BMW not take into account the size of phones these days?

Isn't it just under 7" ? That's a small tablet not a mobile phone

Sunglasses in a car with auto tranny? Just get "automatic" sunglasses. Put them on in the morning, and take them off when you go to bed. No mess - no fuss.

I’m sure BMW had in mind a handy storage solution for a Glock Firearm with this storage bin.

Sorry, no offence. Sounds funny (if not a little disturbing) to a non US national.

No reason whatsoever for me to be offended or for you to be disturbed or for either one of to care what BMW intended

These work! I just installed mine. There’s a video in Amazon which is also selling the product. Follow the instructions and took me 15 mins!

Good quality and works great!

I keep mines on the wireless charger. My S20 Ultra doesn't fit so I can't even use it without jamming my phone in there.

I use the secret mini glove box too, but I sometimes forget to close it, so when I get out of the car my knee hits it. So far I've only hurt my knee, but one day I'll run out of luck and I'll probably knock the whole lid off.

You’re not the only one I do the same thing too. Sometimes, it doesn’t lock properly and falls open. Sometimes, I find it open when I try getting inside the car and my knee bangs the open lid. And it hurts like a b****.

The trickiest part was squeezing the metal clips that hold the grab handle in place. I could not make it work with a screwdriver as shown, but I had a fine needle-nose plier that did the trick. I also did not use the screws that were provided but used thinner ones instead. I was worried that the plastic clips would break.
