Cognac Interior, how does it hold up?

Since BMW doesn't offer red or blue merino leather interiors for the 3 series here in the states, I'm curious to know how the Cognac interior does in regards to staying clean?

I’ve had my M340 for 4 plus months and mine hasn’t shown any sign of dye rubbing onto leather, nor showing any dirt so far.
I’ve worn black jeans, blue jeans and navy cottons in the car.

I only ask because I sat inside an S-Class coupe with an interior very similar in color to that of the 3 series' cognac interior and I noticed that the color from peoples jeans transferred onto the leather. I love how the cognac looks but have been skeptical of how well it holds up.

The S class probably uses a different type of leather that absorbs more than the vernasca in the g20

I have it for 1 year now in my F31, no issues whatsoever and I still don't see a need to properly clean it.

So far about 3,000 miles with my cognac interior and it looks perfect.

The S class almost certainly had a higher quality leather than Dakota. The Dakota is treated which makes it very resistant to stains; the Merc almost certainly was something like Nappa in an S Class. Nappa is IMHO much nicer but not as stain resistant as Dakota.

So the cognac should probably be fine in terms of stain.

Im getting the cognac interior as well. Was wondering if anyone has gotten a ceramic coating for theirs like Cquartz leather.

It seems like it would be over kill and something like lexol would be sufficient.

I ceramic coated mine a week ago as soon as I took delivery of the car. Used CQuartz leather

Can anyone compare this to the tartufo in terms of durability?

Mine shows a little bleed from pants. Spoke to C/A he suggested meguires wipes. Said it cleaned and lubricates leather

Pretty well, actually.
Iīve had it on my 330i M Sport for 7 months of daily use, and there are absolutely no signs of wear.
I clean and condition it every 2/3 weeks, with specific products.
Granted, mine has Ceramic Pro leather protection, so it makes it even easier to clean and harder to stain

Tartufo is Merino leather, I assume, so itīs almost (if not completely) all-natural leather in its composition, while Cognac, which is Vernasca leather, has a more synthetic components in the blend, so it is in theory more durable than Tartufo.
