Quick Help With Tire Order, please
Hi
Embarrassingly, I know nothing about tires. I purchased my 2020 M340i used/CPO with 27k miles on it. The tires looked brand new, but not sure. Regardless, I had my brake fluid changed today and they showed me how worn the tires are now. I actually noticed it about a week ago. I am SHOCKED that the tires have lost so much thread in just 11 months/11k miles. However, I see others on this thread have mentioned that about the M340i - especially with Bridgestone (that's what I currently have). I plan on purchasing Mich Pilot Sport All Season 4. I have read the terms stock and staggered thrown around a lot here, but it does not resonate lol. Currently I have 4 of the same tires on my car 225/R/45R18 front and back. Where I get confused is when I go to TireRack and other online shops, and I put my 2020 M340i xDrive in . . .they all tell me I should have slightly different size on front and back Front: 225/45ZR18 Rear: 255/40ZR18 I get that they both fit my 18" rims, but what do I get LOL? Am I supposed to order all 4 the same tire size like what is currently on the car, or do I get the different rear/front sizes? And what's the difference . . . . in driving? Thank you . . . I have the different rear/front setup in my checkout cart right now . . but don't want to pull the trigger until I know I did the right thing.

I guess the obvious is to simply get the exact same size that is currently on the car. Since, I just don't know.
I have decided to go with Conti ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus 225/45R18 all around They seem to be highly rated. Thanks for letting me think out loud lol

The tire rack site will give you different tire recommendations if you don’t answer their questions correctly. And their definition of “correct” is a little hard to figure out. If you select BMW, 2020, M340i, runflat, it will then ask you to choose 18” or 19”. The 18” non-staggered will be 225/45-18.
Although you selected runflat, it will still list both runflat and go flat tire choices, and you can pick any of them. Many folks do like the Continentals you chose. My M340i came with Pirelli P7 runflats, and I would not recommend them at all. I have had multiple sidewall blowouts and failures. |

I actually went with : Mich Pilot Sport All Season 4.
It was a last min decision. Read a lot of great reviews with similar weather conditions to mine. And - they had a rebate VISA which helped a lot in the decision haha. Love the Mich, so far. Really really love them. I like the grip on the road. We have had a few small snow days (3 to 5 inches) . . and these tires were really fantastic in the snow. And in all honesty, that's good enough for me. I can remote work, if the weather is bad. My M340i is tuned to about 500hp and these tires handle that very well.
