M340 G20 Forged Winter Wheel Setup

Hello

A bit late posting this but finally have time to get them up! Car drives absolutely amazing now! The vehicle handles the power so much better with more rubber on the road.

Setup is Forgedlite MC5 19x9 19x10 with Pilot Alpin 5s 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 bought at Infinite Autowerks. These guys specialize in the G20 platform among others and they were local to me so it was an obvious choice.

Full disclosure, they did give me a deal to take some pics for their company but I would have happily paid full price after feeling the difference and seeing the perfect fitment. I am a stickler for OEM+ fitment and this was perfect. No poke. Just perfect.

Enough talk, I will let the pics speak for themselves.

We don’t really get snow that sticks for long anymore. Most of the time it’s just cold roads. I like that these tires can handle sloppy snow packed roads as well, but mainly driven on cold dry or cold wet roads so having proper rubber compound is the most important. The ground clearance of Thai vehicle limits the actual snow driving to only a few inches. So for just cold conditions, yes it’s nice tk have the wider tires. For actual snow, they still do fine and have plenty of grip. Yes they may not dig down through the snow as well as a 225 but for 98% of the winter driving here in Michigan they are the best choice!

So how has it been so far this winter after some snow driving? I'm in Toronto just north of Michigan so am looking for a similar winter setup, something mostly for dry cold conditions but ok in the snow.

Wasn't sure how wide to go. Would you stick with the same 245/275 setup if you can do it over again?

I'd love to know how you got Tanzanite on a 2020! Was not an option when I ordered mine. Looks great!

the setup is excellent. very confidence inspiring. I would not go smaller. I would consider going 255/285 in the winter but I do like the extra sidewall height the 245/275 setup gives. To answer your question, they are perfect and extremely fun in all winter conditions.
