I think it will likely continue to sell well.

I don't think there is a power upgrade yet. Just some suspension changes.

Edit: longer range at least:

Tesla says that the refreshed Model 3 will have longer range, rated at 344 miles WLTP for the SR RWD version, and 421 miles WLTP for the LR, both with 18″ aero wheels. These numbers are an 11-12% improvement from WLTP ratings for the current Model 3.

But note that those are WLTP numbers, so they’re bigger than the US EPA numbers will be when they come out. If we expect a similar 11-12% improvement, then you’ll see roughly a ~300 mile EPA range on the SR and ~370 miles on the LR. Tesla has also been accused of overstating vehicle range so these numbers should be taken in context.

This increased range largely comes from improvements in aerodynamics, with a lower and less bulbous front end, channeling air around the vehicle more effectively. This has resulted in a Cd of .219, Tesla’s lowest yet (down from .225 on the current Model 3), which improves range by 5-8% on its own.

Looks less goofy at the front but interior is just horrendous with no gauges for the driver and no HUD. Now they removed the stalks for turning indicator.

should help current model 3s depreciate more. i think once the standard model 3 gets to $20k with 50-70k miles it would make for a good work beater. imo right now its not worth it over a used civic or mazda 3.. the gas savings dont offset the initial purchase price unless I drive it for 7 years or something.

Gotta factor in that inevitable battery replacement at some point though

i like it, you never need to indicate with this car, and even when you want to you can't

i don't know why they didn't remove the doors and steering wheel.

I have a similar steering wheel on my Model S. I have zero issues signaling.

True. EV batteries need to be replaced, whereas engines last forever.

I have a 26 year old Z3. M44. 198,000 miles. Original engine. The Z3 still returns the same MPG as it did when new.

Waiting to see if a 2017 Model 3 makes it 26 years and 200,000 miles on its original battery.

Hopefully they will look less like a cockroach in real life. Out here in LA they're all over the place and look like roaches... they move really quick like them too

Musk still cost cutting my removing any physical tactile controls.

How much longer before they are able to beam into the car and assume control remotely? I can't believe there is so much press over a really bland life cycle update - after 6 years.

I'm pretty keen to styling changes, but if I saw this "new" Model 3 roll down the road, I'd have no idea it's updated. It looks almost exactly the same minus the wheels.

If they would drop the roof line 2", it would make this car look infinitely better. The greenhouse is unnecessarily tall. Hopefully they'll make the Model 3 a bit more sporty looking with the next generation.

They can't cut the roof down because the battery in the floor moves the seats up 4 inches from a typical ICE sedan with a transmission tunnel. The rear seat in the Model 3 is very uncomfortable because of the battery placement.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
