I was hoping G80 AWD MT was thinking getting a pair. Sense this is not happening....might as well stay with mine F90 M5 and M240xi

So far it seems like the majority are split between two groups:
1. Practical daily/winter car 2. Fun weekend/summer car |

I am seriously interested in the "Pure" trim for my next car. I prefer a manual and a somewhat stripped down option list. I still regret not getting the cloth seats on my F80. After driving the Hellcat for a while, I think I will be fine with ~450 HP as long as it is engaging to drive.

Considering this will probably be the last go around for the 6MT, despite my last 2 M cars being DCT, I'm going 6MT.

Here's my take:
If it's your only toy, go RWD Manual and enjoy that true M/// setup. If you already have a worthy toy and need a daily driver, go AWD AT if the performance can even come close to what we're seeing out of the new m5. I already have my weekend toy (GT3) but would strongly consider a G-series M3 as my daily driver with AWD and AT setup if it gives me a bit of a "baby M5" experience.

This decision will be made for me when they publish the weight of this g80
If it stays rwd and MT but doesn't get any lighter then it'll be a hard pass $75k S58 MT g80 around 3400 lbs would be ideal |

even if you lose the moonroof, and have a ton of carbon fiber i think theres only so much they could do bet its in the 3800 range base which would put it about 150 lbs more than an m2 competition MT |

It's not, but if you're buying a car it's in one of those 2 categories. You are either focused on practicality or fun. So I'm just saying it's strange to me when people look at cars that are clearly focused on practicality and choose options that take away from it. All that to say I'm not surprised that it's split the way it is. For a car like the G80, you will either have people that want to focus on the performance aspect or people that want to squeeze as much practicality into it as possible. Not in between.
