Software update 11/2019.70

Got tired of waiting for BMW to send an update so I went to my preferred dealer (i.e., not the one I bought the car from since they were less than useless by telling me there was something wrong with my car they couldn't diagnose). My new service advisor and the head of service at the second (now preferred) dealer found a TSB that was overdue (to trigger warranty work), and in 90 minutes, I had the TSB taken care of as well as the software update after 2020.07. The updates changed the appearance and functionality of the entire interface and added Android Auto. For example, before the update, I could not find the software version or screens anywhere in the interface screenshots like others have posted here. After the update, the interface screens now look like everyone else's screenshots here. If you are having issues after the 2020.07 update, a trip to your dealer may help.

Yes, extremely annoying! A few other threads and users have noticed this as well. Android auto is great, but would much rather have the burbles and pops.

If my car supports USB update and is it not working, am I right in assuming that going to dealer is going to be costly 😒😓

Is USB update supported on G20? Pretty sure I read somewhere that it is not supported on G20 — but I stand corrected. I’d have to go check again. Haven’t read of anyone who has been able to update with USB for the G20.

No you are right pal, I apologise for confusion as became a lil click happy through Google and ended up in wrong thread but believe you are correct, I’m pretty sure too that you can’t update via USB on G20 😓
