Cloning NFC Key Card to iPhone
I'm not sure if this has been covered before, or if it's even possible.
Is there a way to read G20 NFC Key Card into an iPhone and replay it using an app, effectively allowing a user to open their car by keeping the phones NFC next to the door handle? It's very much possible that I'm misunderstanding how this technology works, or whether there's security protocols that make this impossible. At the end of the day, I'm trying to see if my iPhone can open the car without using the BMW app or keeping the nfc card between the case and the phone. |

Short answer is no. Otherwise we would not have to rely on the newly introduced iOS CarKey.
The NFC functionality on iPhone is highly restricted. Card emulation only supports certain transit passes other than Apple Pay cards. There are obviously security reasons preventing it from being opened up to third party implementation. |
