[RLA1999]

Hello all,

I have a 2020 M340i and my wife a 2017 X1. We were wondering how to update the maps in the navigation system. Is this something purchased at the dealer or online?

The 2020 M340i may not need it but at least for my wife's X1.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

On my car, maps are periodically updated Over The Air (OTA) -- sort of. By that I mean, I have the base US map, which I think is 2018 vintage, BUT for my region I get periodic OTA updates.

If you log into the Connected Drive portal ( https://connecteddrive.bmwusa.com/ap...x.html#/portal ), and go to map update, you can select your area. Honestly, I don't know when or how base map is updated, but I have found map data is pretty close to the real thing
