The release notes are quite vague. "Functional updates and improved quality".
Should I hit go?
Anyone notice anything major? Good or bad?

It came out earlier this month. I think the consensus is that there isn't much new in it for id7 cars. Mine won't install so I can't give you any personal experience feedback.

I installed the update this morning. No noticeable changes to the UI over a short drive so I'd say it's mostly updates to existing id7 features as the description spells out in the images. I'd recommend upgrading if you can. I agree, I don't anticipate much changing with the id7 interface other than minor improvements here and there, with the new OSs, OS 8 etc out on newer vehicles.

A note: in my case, after upgrading I noticed, the "sporadic change of date and time" issue described in the uploaded image occured - which then erroneously flagged (on my instrument console, and MyBMW app) that future vehicle checks (Feb 2024 vehicle and brake fluid checks) are now overdue , so I might have to follow the instructions in that section to reset the time & clear the messages. Otherwise all good.

After applying the update 07/2023.53 on a 220, the car lost its service history and is now telling me I haven't had any services done. Frustrating and will now need to book in a service so they can fix.

Is your current iDrive date & time settings correct? If not, update it (also check the "automatic time settings") and that might resolve it.
Otherwise check with your service dept/dealer.

The image below is what my date & time settings (incorrect) looked like right after the update. I corrected it to fix my issue, hope this helps.

Yep mine flagged oil service overdue after the reboot and engine light on. Sh*t myself until 8 realised it was the date issue. Also was Oct 2024. Manually setting and then back to auto worked and cleared up the service history issues.
