330e hesitant take up from stationary

I've noticed an annoying quirk with my '71 plate 330e Touring. When starting in electric drive from cold, there's a hesitation before the car takes up drive (forward or reverse). The first bit of throttle travel does nothing, and, once you've pressed harder to get the car moving, it tends to jump forward (or back). This doesn't happen once it's warmed up.

Has anyone else noticed this? I could live with it but don't want to collide with my gate posts.

72 plate 330e touring here, and I normally drive in electric mode.

Nope. Haven’t seen that at all. Sounds like your accelerator pedal might need calibrating. Perhaps.

Is this just the first “move” of the day?
It may be the electric handbrake release.
Usually with my m340i when I put it in gear after first start I’ll give the accelerator a gentle prod to release the handbrake.

I presume that what you're describing isn't the slight stickiness that you get with auto-hold switched on. That should be quite 'gentle', but you could try switching it off before you move off, to double check that it isn't that.

Thanks, both. It is the first move of the day, so it could be the handbrake - it's worse in cold weather. I'll try releasing the handbrake first and see if that makes a difference.
