M340 autocross setup
Anybody running their M340 in F Street autocross? Wondering what the must have mods are (if any). In other classes it seems to be a front sway bar and adjustable shocks… but maybe the M340 is good to go out of the box?

Definitely not optimal for auto cross, stock. This car is too heavy and soft imo. Needs a hell of a lot more camber and sway bars to take short quick turns in auto cross. The problem with sway bars is the lack of options available amd labor cost. There is a thread you can search for where several of us list different sway bar options known currently.

I've autox'd my car once and my experience was the M340i was very fun but without more driving I can't say if it can be competitive in any class. I finished mid pack.
I can echo what peelerec said except I didn't feel the car was too soft actually even stock. The parking lot I ran was very uneven and the soft suspension actually kept me planted where stiffer cars were having trouble keeping all 4 wheels down. Car was stock expect for Continental DWS 06+ and they were great for an all season. Didn't need any more power but definitely needs more rotation. |
