My Australian 330e standard charging cable is only rated at 8 amps - how about yours?

Hi guys
Question for those with hybrids. I have just picked up my 330e in Australia. The standard charging cable has a maximum rating of 8 amps. This is not the 10amps I was expecting from what I had read. It took over 8 hours to charge when I was expecting closer to 5.5h (once again, from reviews).

So I was wondering what do people in other countries get? The manual made it sound like different jurisdictions may get a different rating standard cable.

Also, did anyone upgrade to a higher rating cable (like 15amps) without a wall-box, but using a 15amp wall power point?

Cheers

Before I installed a wallbox, it took me about 8 hours to charge. With the wallbox, just shy of 2 hours.

2 hours! I thought the on-board charger was a max of 3.7kW, which means closer to 3 to fill the usable 10.4 kWh of the battery?

I think Steve has a 530e which has a smaller battery.
3 hours sounds just about right for a 330e G20 when charging @16A.

That said, a wallbox is the way to go for peace of mind.
Regular outlets are not really made for long periods of high current and if you have an old electrical installation there is always a risk of fire.

Oh yes, he does. I thought maybe Steve had access to some magic elements electricity!

I agree with your point about wallboxes.

correct. I have a 20 AMP wall box at 240 (it was all the capacity I had to spare; any more and I would have had to trench my front yard to bring in another line).

Incidentally, while I would appreciate the bigger battery, I would appreciate more a 6 cylinder straight six as the ICE.
