in my gut I'm never thrilled with ANY of the BMW browns. The Cognac looks very rich with just about any of the exterior colors.

Dravit Grey is gorgeous...I was just about to order a new 330i M Sport Plus in Dravit Grey with a cream interior, a perfect combinatiion for me when the dealer offered me an almost new 330i M Sport Plus with every option for £22k less than list ...I couldn't refuse that. It does look mean in black but boy does it show the dirt, also the black interior is relatively gloomy...if it had been Dravit Grey with a cream interior it would have been perfect

Most certainly not. Dravit Grey is gorgeous; a true chameleon colour that looks different, yet always great, depending on surrounding light. I actually made deal about my 330e (imported dealer demo) before I knew the exact colour; I was told it is either white or one of the greys. Imagine my "disappointment" when I saw in 1st pics that it was Dravit Grey

Um.... my dealer usually delivers my cars pretty clean.

Joking aside, I usually put a small sandwich plastic bag over one hand and gently run my fingers over the paint. Usually the horizontal surfaces will feel rough through the plastic. Rail dust, road grime contaminates the paint. It feels smooth to your bare hand but the thin plastic bag reveals all the stuff in the paint.

FEAR NOT!

Adams has some very good (mild) clay products and a great smelling pink detailing spray. Gently clay the car and wipe it clean with a microfiber cloth. Follow up with a coat of their finishing polish and finally a coat of Patriot wax (simply THE best).

Your car will love you.

Thanks, I will give this a shot. I think this method applies to most cars? Do you have a DG and do this?

I've been obsessing (for lack of a better word) over Obsessed Garage videos. Phenomenal stuff that man does.

I'll start simple

DG? Not sure what you are referring to. I do it myself. Actually enjoy taking my time and gently detailing my now cars. A couple beers, a cigar or two and there you have it.

The first thing you need to invest in is a Porter Cable variable speed random orbit polisher. I have model 7424XP. You really can't get into trouble with it.

I find the Adams stuff to be very high quality. If the car were older and dirty, you would clay, correcting polish, finishing polish and then Patriot wax or seal, depending on your preference. With a new car, clay, finishing polish with a very mild pad, and then wax.

The more experienced you get the more comfortable you will get with the process. You're really not tearing into the paint like some of these correction vids you see. Don't press hard. Simply let the machine do the work, taking about 5 minutes to buff out a panel. Have fun.

Thanks, helpful info! Looking into orbitals now as I type this...

I visited the local dealership today. It was a rainy day. There was a 330i out front that was sort of a greenish-grey. Kind of a mossy color. It was gorgeous in the rain. The color reminded me of the green of really old bottle glass. Was that Dravit Grey?

I would normally not even consider a grey car, but would definitely consider that one.

I was so close on pulling the trigger on a black/black grille but waited a 2 weeks to get a dravit grey/black grille+black wheels. Have not regretted my decision and as other members have mentioned, I get tons of compliments in person for its uniqueness. After 5 months, I still cannot stop staring at my car.

I don't regret it one bit. As long as you keep it clean, i think it's one of the best colors out there. Investing in ceramic coating, wash every 2-3 weeks is a breeze. Throw on some bead maker.. the shine, gloss, hints of different colors (Grey, gold, brown) depending on how the sun hits it, is amazing. I still get compliments and I've had it since June.

Any issues with swirl marks yet ? I know if cleaned properly should not have an issue but curious.

Did you DIY the ceramic coating?

I have ordered mine in Dravit Grey with Cognac but never seen in real life yet! Both paint and seat colours look amazing in the images on here so I am sure I will not be disappointed. Ordered December 2019, have to wait until May........aaaaaghhh.

You definitely won't be disappointed. Dravit grey + cognac is best color combo for g20 IMO.

I actually did regret it at first but it was one of those things I had to get used to. I do prefer the car at night or under cloud cover to direct sunlight for some reason. I like the almost blueish tint it gets in that light.

I also didn't like my carbon black 535d m sport I had at first either. I thought it was going to be more black than blue but it grew on me and I loved it later.
