I recently installed a Thule Aeroblade which works great for carrying bikes, however I am not a fan of the look. I will mountain bike every so often during the summer but it should be easy put on and remove since only four screws fasten it to the car.

I left mine on all the time you never known when some one needed a helping hand to carry their bikes.

I'm rolling with a kayak rack clamped on the BMW crossbars. Goes on when the ice melts and back off when the ice is back. Don't like the looks either but that's a distant secondary concern.

On my E90, I always removed the racks when not in use and kept them in the trunk.
I intend to do the same with my M340.

Having roof racks on when not in use is just a waste of fuel

Looking at a 2021 M340i Xdrive. Realistically, how long does it take to install /uninstall a roof rack? I imagine if you get good at it - the racks can be off and hanging in the garage in 5 min. I’m an avid Mountain biker - but sort of getting tired of the big suv thing.

I have a suction mounted rack for my surfboard but they have attachments for bikes and skis/snowboard and it works great. I've hit 80 with my board mounted and not going anywhere. It only takes a couple of min to put in and seconds to take off. The one I'm using is the stagg rack and price is similar to hard mounted racks.

Thanks for sharing. These look great! Do you mean 80 mph or kmh?
