"M Sport Package" NLA on i40?
Apparently one can no longer order an i40 with the "M Sport Package" (RPO#: ZMP).
I have been told this by several BMW dealers. However, while it's not available for the i40 on the BMW on-line configurator, it is still showing available for an i50 build. So, my question is this; Has BMW abandoned various option packages in the recent past and then reinstated them at a later date? This could either be a parts/supplier problem -OR- it could be BMW attempting to create a greater market distinction between the i40 and i50 models. Your thoughts and/or BMW's recent history. |

This has to totally be a supply issue.
BMW cares not about distinguishing your e40 from someone else's M50. If they can sell a $2400 package to you they surely will if possible. Disclaimer: My opinion!

I think that these mid-year options changes have been more extreme recently due to the global supply chain problems. |

Agree.
The other reason I think this is indeed a supply issue is that my SA just bumped our Non - M-sport e40 order up the list above other customers who ordered the e40 M-sport. He said they cannot physically build the M-sports at tis time, so he actually switched us with another m-sport order far up the list. We now have a Feb build date! We were expecting June before...

M Sport Pkg is now available for eDrive40
I just checked BMW Configurator an hour ago and the M Sport Pkg is now available for ordering with the eDrive 40. The Shadowline Pkg ZHO that includes the black mirror caps, rear spoiler, and red sport brakes does not show up in the Configurator.

Well now . . . the saga continues. My dealer tried to enter my build as an order but the BMW system wouldn't accept the order with the M Sport Package. So we'll see I guess. Either the on-line system was updated and it should not have been -OR- the BMW ordering system that the dealers use has not been updated to match what is showing on-line.
