It looks like no one has posted the following picture - that was an article about the future plans of BMW M in German Sport Auto magazine (3 weeks ago), along with the image of an M4.

Although it's not gonna look like that. The M4 will have a completely different front bumper, bigger headlights and a hood line.

I have a thing for nice analogue tachometers and this modern interpretation by Porsche is just about perfect. Would a Digital Patek be the same? Hardly. Nice job Porsche keeping that center piece as it should be.

I have commented numerous times on how these these so-called spy shots are more like planned sneak peaks than actual spy shots . . . I mean, some of the most recent spy shots were taken by the 'spy' sitting in the freaking back seat.
At any rate, I am not a business man, but I was recently reading about an apparently well-known marketing strategy based on cognitive behavior. Variably labelled, but commonly referenced as 'Mere Exposure Effect' which is a fancy way of saying 'familiarity breeds content.' So, at least in my mind, BMW - and many automotive companies alike - seem to intentionally expose the consumer to a new product so that it is accepted before even released. I suspect, more than acceptance, they are after product desirability. I am really not sure how this strategy, camouflaged as 'spy' work, is working when it comes to the M3 and M4? Admittedly, I generally succumb to changes after variable exposure, however, have yet to find myself accepting of the front snout. I can say for certain I do not have any particular desire to own what I have seen of the upcoming M3 or M4 iterations over the most recent iterations. ///AVM |

What you are saying makes complete sense. I thought what I read was BMW was keeping the new interior like the current design.

Regarding the M4 on the Nurburgring . . .
I more than like the M3 and M4 offerings. My favorite sporty sedan/coupe on the roadways. However, either the Nurturing is getting smaller, or the M3/4 have gotten too big for the track . . . yes, tongue in cheek, but these awesome BMW offerings belong more and more on the road and less on the track. They have gotten enormous and heavy. Seems perfectly fine, as I suspect some 95%-plus of owners never sniff the track. ///AVM |

Something about the overall shape (front end especially)with the camouflage on there reminds me of a Jag XF as it comes around the corner. Maybe it's the lights. Even the overall size seems similar which is not a good thing.

Yep, considering that the XF is a direct competitor to the 5-series.
