Dinan vs H&R Springs

Other than the amount of actual lowering ability is there a specific reason to pay the additional cost for H&R springs over the Dinan? Also, does anyone know where Dinan springs are fabricated?

Just checked my as of yet uninstalled 330i Dinan springs... there are no markings indicating country of origin. So, your guess is as good as mine.

My guess is that H&R manufactures everything in Germany so there is going to be a price premium simply based on labor, not to mention TUeV certification.

I believe the H&R are going to give you more drop, so there's that...

You are correct - Dinan does not include a physical identifier as it relates to the country of origin on their springs. I called Dinan yesterday and was informed that the country of manufacturer was proprietary and would not be provided/shared with the general public. Interesting but it is what it is (I have my own opinions as to why they would provide such a response)

Personally I will pay the extra funds for a brand that publicly releases their information to the consumer - even if it's only for the warm and fuzzies!

I dont care where the product is made as long as the fitment, quality, and warranty are up to standards.

But I completely understand where you are coming from. Companies that make their products in the US or Europe will not hide it.

How is country of origin protected?

I thought that was a requirement when importing goods into the US?

Couldn't agree with you more Mike; well stated! For me, a company who takes pride in their products would have no issues openly discussing their fabrication origins, but again not everyone thinks on the same lines…

Not exactly sure brother, all I know is the requested information was considered "proprietary" and would not be divulged.

It is. But they are not imported. They are manufactured domestically.

We do, but typically the line of questioning is looking for proprietary vendor info which will not be divulged which is why they probably gave that response. Head it off at the pass so to speak.

Fully understand and agree with the protection of vital information especially when you have individuals/companies who's intentions are ill from the conception - I can respect that. Appreciate you taking time to provide clarification and insight as to the provided answer!
