My BMW App
So I just happened to have a look at the app this morning and saw that it said the car was unlocked and that the boot was open. I wasn’t to worried as the car is garaged, and I had actually been in the boot the day before looking for something.
So I went to close the boot and lock the car only to find that it was all closed and locked. I unlocked the car and locked it again and the app refreshed with the update time, but still says the boot is open and the car is unlocked. I even started the car but it didn’t think the boot was open. I’ve always found it to be very accurate. Are others seeing a similar thing?

Mines OK. Does it work if the car is outside the garage?

My App shows the driver window open after I park it in my underground garage.
Which is correct as my window was open as I entered the garage and lost connectivity. D.

The app is updating recording the time time the car was last locked, but it’s telling the wrong information i.e. the boot is open and the car is unlocked. |

I know I post bolleaux sometimes, but that one is a genuine top-tip.
Flashing your lights establishes momentary contact with the car during which the latest data is exchanged. Then if you do a refresh (pull down in the app) it'll grab this new data from BMW's cloud servers. P. |

Well, I drove the car out of the garage, got out and locked it. The app still said sit was unlocked with the boot open, although the actual car thought otherwise!
I even had the car running and then opened the boot which showed correctly on the dash. I wondered if the boot open/close sensor was playing up, but no, all fine. Very strange.

Mine was a bit slow to update this evening. Normally it's pretty good and only has issues when I park underground or in big multi-stories. Said car was unlocked and sunroof open even though it wasn't. Seemed to sort itself out about 30 mins later, so wouldn't he surprised if there's issues server side.

Mines telling me my front right window is open. Just been out to check and it's definitely closed. Also telling me it's on 99% fuel level when it's actually on about 3/4 of a tank. Mines parked in the drive so not a signal issue

I checked my app recently as had a feeling I left the rear window down slightly when leaving the car, now on the train it suddenly popped in my mind to check on the app - correct, window open. Thought you'd be able to put it down or the 'lock car button' would replicate holding the lock key from the app considering you can turn the fans on & heating, nope.. pretty stupid oversight really.
So it'll just tell you but nothing you can do about it, ha. Last edited by Ross_; 02-10-2022 at 07:55 AM.. |

This has happened to me before too.
In my case I didn't do an iDrive reset, seemed too much of a hassle, so what I did was remove it on the app and then add it back again and it did the trick. |
